Set in a slightly AU of the popular show Vikings, it focusses on Ragnar's second oldest and heir to Kattegat, Ubbe Lothbrok. Spending his life growing up as the surrogate parent to his brothers, Ubbe finds himself at a lost when those young boys he always thought he'd be taking care of find their own righteous paths in viking history. With each boy finding his future Ubbe is placid about what he will do in life until a mysterious woman, claiming to be mercenary hired by Queen Aslaug herself, shows up full of arrogance and working for something his own mother seems to be omitting. A story about how Ubbe discovers himself dislodged from what he thought he would always know, this violent coy woman helps Ubbe find the game of cat and mouse in which the strong prince didn't ever think he'd become the mouse.

To secure his rule, Ragnar agreed to an arranged marriage with Lydia, daughter of a noble from the east. What began as duty slowly turned into something neither expected. And when Aslaug died, her sons came to live with them - under Lydia's care, where a broken family quietly began to heal. (I know this isn't how it went but this is ths only way i could make my story line be right because i still wanted him to know all the sons. And that all the sons would see him as a father figure.)

When the only important person in Maerwynn's life is taken from her, she leaves the lands she grew up in and promises God she won't rest before she finds him. Guided by the Lord's hand and the rumors about the infamous Ragnar Lothbrok, she wanders through the unknown lands. The moment Rune is saved by a mysterious young woman and learns about her search, he offers his help to thank her for saving his life. However, what the Christian girl doesn't know is that Rune has his own reasons to visit Kattegat. Ragnar Lothbrok, Earl of Kattegat. Ragnar has been Earl of Kattegat since he defeated the previous Earl that was ruling. Arnora's father has arranged a marriage between Ragnar and Arnora. And Ragnar happily accepted as he hadn't had a wife yet. Just an adopted son. When Arnora arrives with her father at Kattegat, she's completely oblivious of why she is actually here. Arnora prefers to be free, uncommitted, one with the Gods and nature. Now that she has to commit, it unleashed a beast inside of her. Ragnar soon finds out she's not the sweet girl from before the marriage. However, Arnora's defences slowly start to weaken, and Ragnar slowly but surely finds his way through the maze of mental walls that are supposed to block everything out to the hidden girl inside of Arnora.
