Harry assumed it ended because he came out as gay to Louis and his family (Louis was as straight as anyone could get.) So he never asked why and Louis certainly never told him why, either.

He understands how cruel and unfair the world can be, so he tries to take from the spoiled to help the less fortunate. When they meet, Harry is shocked at how negative the delinquent is, and Louis is disgusted by the pampered prince's optimism.
