It's 1915, Helen falls in love with her best friend Elizabeth, who's husband has just died in The Great War (World War 1). Helen helps Elizabeth to cope and break out of her shell. Elizabeth decides to Finnish the work her husband started, in world war 1. Helen is conserved for Elizabeth's safety but she stays by her side through it all.
