Liam and Valerie met at the diner down the street. Liam is a notorious "bad boy"--was, anyway. Liam was involved in a riotous lifestyle that consisted of drugs, alcohol, crime, and women---lots of women.
He met Valerie Salem, who is known for being a very "good girl," almost perfect it seemed. No, it was not "love at first sight." Liam saw Valerie and thought she was beautiful, sure, but he didn't care for her. Valerie did her best to do what she thought was right/best by avoiding Liam at all costs and he did the same.
He couldn't figure out what it was exactly, but Liam was somehow intrigued by this seemingly simple girl who was too good for her own good. He wasn't feeling a connection of any sort, but she was somehow...different. Not different like guys say in cheesy romances, but strangely different.
He started out pretending to be a friend to her, but as circumstances arose and he accidentally learned something about her that she didn't want anyone to know, the friendship became real, then grew into something more. Valerie was no longer "just a good little girl" to him. She somehow inspired Liam and he lost interest in his old habits.
Somehow, suddenly, and contrary to popular belief, Liam Corey had a weakness.
