London, Winter, early 2000s Olivia Vane spends her days working in a record store, just trying to make it to closing time. Then there's Ville Valo. Caught in the middle of a rising rock scene, he's constantly on the road, playing gigs that eventually bring him to London. When they meet on a rain-soaked sidewalk, there's no instant connection. Just friction. She thinks he's insufferable. He thinks she's stubborn. But somehow, their lives keep colliding. Confusing, painful, complicated, and anything but easy or sweet.

Meet Liisa Itälä, a 26-year-old from Helsinki. She's the singer and bassist in a band called Ad Astra. Her life at the moment is quite boring and she longs for a person who gives it a purpose. Ville Valo, soon 35, is the singer of the famous band HIM. Ville already has a girlfriend. But is it a happy relationship?

Kayla almost made it: she had the band, the friends, the boy of her dreams. Until tragedy twisted her life. Her life began anew and she thought her past had been forgotten... that he was just a distant memory. How wrong she was. Fate had other plans.

Finland. Her friends questioned why she even considered moving to such a place. Her family begged her to stay in the United States. What was the point of leaving when she had everything, and everyone, back home? Home just didn't feel like home anymore, especially since Aria's father began to abuse her. She decided to follow her dreams, and get away from there.
