this is my previous story translated into english, that indeed is not my native language so I hope that the story will be understandable and grammatically correct:) A short story inspired by the Regency era, the great Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters. Northern England, 1815. In the quiet Valley of York, Miss Liza Field is a young woman unlike the others: more interested in botany, reading, and the solitude of the fields than in drawing rooms and marriages of convenience. During a walk among the rye stalks of the fields near her beloved cottage, an unexpected encounter with a mysterious wounded hunter begins to shatter her view of the world. The man, who presents himself as a simple farmer, is in truth hiding a far more complex and painful past. When Liza unexpectedly meets him again, a story of secrets, mysteries, and startling twists begins to unfold. With a high society ball and a new identity, a subtle game of concealed truths takes shape. Amid family intrigues, reputations to preserve, and feelings that grow in silence, Liza finds herself torn between duty and desire. A sudden escape, a devastating loss, and an impossible choice will shape her destiny. That escape will lead her beyond the fields she has always known, changing her soul and guiding her toward another fate. Because sometimes, the sincerest love is also the one that cannot be lived.
