Renn was always one to stay in the background, she never knew who she was or how to be herself. She was the very definition of lost. You'd think the people around her would get it but no it's never that simple. She was hurt, complicated, and very caged. It wasn't by choice, sometimes Renn was told that things were only complicated if you make it complicated, "Stupid right?", Renn said. Trust me, for her, it was never that simple. This story is anything but simple. You can try to make it simple or force your own mindset into this world, but trust me; it's not that easy.

A word from the author I have always been one to stay up late, or find myself waking up in the extremely early hours of the morning. I don't know if it is the darkness or the quiet, maybe both, but I am always compelled to write at these times. During the month of February I was thinking a lot about love, and the different relationships I have been in. As always, I found myself expressing my thoughts in writing. I took some time to truly reflect, and began looking into my heart to see how she truly feels right now about the connections she has, and has had, romantically. I had a few conversations with the Most High as well during this time. A lot of unraveling and dissecting took place, but writing these poems seems to have assisted her in coming back together. These are some of the things that came out of her when we spoke. So, please take a moment to read a few pieces of my heart. Sit with her, take her in, and hold space for her if you will. It is my personal opinion that these poems sound better, feel better, and are understood better when read aloud. I encourage that if your environment permits.
