But when she finds a murdered mother with a missing child, she can't let it go at the forest's edge where the Ranger's power ends. In her quest for justice, she dawns a new persona, the feared Huntress, to fight the High Streets Zealots and their underground empire, and soon finds, fighting a whole gang and keeping her beloved out of the loop isn't as easy as she once thought.

There is little innocence in revolution and war, but there could be kindness. And gentleness. Perhaps even earnestness. A Vast World is the fist part of The King's Playground story. Autohr's note: The first chapter, "Home, bitter home", is now completed with the final manuscript edit. I will not be making any major changes to it anymore, which means that I will soon start to publish the 2nd chapter sporadically.

A very short story I spewed out for a writing competition a couple years back: not with the intention of winning, but just to practice writing. It's not very subtle: one of its flaws. However this pic of a halfling I found on google goes hard.
