Will and Roy, his adopted Lowlander brother, have always feared being recruited by the Orion’s army. They have heard horror stories about the brutal training, but in Will's humble Middle Class village, this all seems worlds away. Now the day has come. A strange, female government agent recruits both Roy and Will, and they are immediately sent to an intensive training camp. There, they meet two other teens, including the dictator, Mr. Calhoun's, own son. Their mysterious young trainer, a fearsomely lovely young general named Jayd, throws them into the worst training regiment they could ever imagine. Using their individual skills, Will and his new friends escape—but accidentally capture Jayd, which instantaneously labels them traitors, kidnappers, and lethal criminals. Struggling through the frozen, desolate wastelands of Russia, Will, Roy, and their friends become entangled in a chase against their captors. When they realize that they can’t survive without the help of Jayd, their enemy, they must endanger themselves in order to stay alive. The Orion catches them once more, and they are faced with the most difficult decision they will ever make; trust Jayd, the confused Orion agent, or end her life and return home safely?

This piece isn't fiction, though it speaks in the voice of story. It's a remembrance - for a people, a language, and a landscape that survived centuries of conquest and silence. My bloodline traces through those hills and borders, through families who lost their homes, their words, and their songs - yet somehow kept the flame alive. Celtic culture has too often been turned into costume, myth into merchandise. This writing is my way of giving it back its heartbeat. Every name, every god, every season we once marked with fire still belongs to us. May this be read not as bitterness, but as love - fierce, remembering love. For those who were silenced, and for those still learning to speak again. We are not relics. We are flame. And the flame still speaks our names.

Princess of the Highlands Trilogy Book 1 ~~~ A TIME OF DARKNESS Six years since the Danes invaded Scotland, slaying her finest men. Five since the Highland King married one of the enemy, betraying his countrymen and losing the Lowlanders' support. Three since the king died and the Danes imprisoned the remaining blood heir to the throne. Her crown stolen, her country desolated, Fiona McCurragh now faces the looming threat of execution. The Lowlanders, weary of enemy rule, seek to free their stolen homeland. With the aid of a blind harper, they attempt to rescue their Highland princess when the Danes ride in on Lowlander territory, shattering the fragile peace. The Scots are left with no choice except to launch a war in the face of the coming winter. If they do not attack now, the Scots-and their princess-may not live to see the spring. In the face of despair, Fiona McCurragh finds courage in friendship with two chief's sons. Yet conflict lies on more than one side, and for some of the Scots and their allies, loyalty no longer has any meaning. --- **FEATURED on Wattpad's Blast to the Past List** **Highest Ranking: #34 in Historical Fiction 8/24/2020** January Book of the Month in Historical Fantasy in The Gladiator Pit Top 5 in The Historical Award 2019 Best Technical Skill in Fiction in The 2019 Futhark Awards Best Historical Fiction Chapter in What a Chapter Contest 1st: Earnesty Awards 2017 Hidden Gems Awards 2017 The Paper Plane Awards 2017 The Chaos Awards 3!
