Young adulthood has been tough on both of them, and stress can make you do things you never thought you would do. Like tell your best friend you like boys. And maybe that best friend is trying to figure out if they like boys too.

Luca tried not to spend too much time daydreaming about romance. But he knew that once he saw that tall, tan boy with his overly confident smirk, he'd be thinking about romance all day. This was torture. This is a Human AU with "Oh no! My best friend's brother is hot" but Luca angsty about it and doesn't know how to deal with it. In Genova, school is finally out for two Underdogs, Luca and Giulia, who are both more than excited to go back to Portorosso and reunite with Alberto. But as they make a return to the town, so does someone else who they thought was out of the picture for good....who Alberto first knew him as Signor Vespa.... After the trio hears a rumor going around town that Ercole is planning the biggest sea monster hunt ever known to history, the Underdogs are Portorosso's, better yet Italy's, only hope of keeping the sea monster species alive... You guys know that scene in Luca where Luca and Alberto get into a fight and Alberto was about to punch Luca right before Giulia came along?? Well, what if Giulia never came. What if Alberto actually punched Luca? SO I BRING YOU THIS!!! I'm sorry if this isn't the best. This is my first time writing a fanfic since I usually just write stories with my OCs. I found it hard to do this because Alberto and Luca aren't my characters so I don't know how exactly they would act or what they would say. That's why I always write my own stories with my OCs because I created them and their personalities, so I know what they would say. But I guess this is good practice, so it's fine. Also, I know there are some things I could've improved but it is currently 2:30 am and I just wanna get this over with. If you have ay criticism or feedback, please let me know!! I wanna improve my writing.

I have gay little Italian fish brain rot so this is just Alberto and Luca in that one fireworks scene or Alberto realizes he sees more in Luca than he originally thought. So. Here are the facts as you see them. Fact number one: Giulia is going to be on the train for Genova in two days. She's going back home--because Genova is her home, apparently, and you're still grappling with the idea that there are places outside your island and Portorosso, BIG ones, they keep telling you, all over the globe--where she'll spend the next nine or so months going to school. Fact number two: You and Luca now own your very own Vespa. It's not road-ready yet, and it might not be for a while, which is fine actually because it turns out now that the Paguros aren't going to send Luca away to the bottom of the ocean, you're going to have to whittle them down into giving him permission to run away with you. Fact number three: That's not even really a plan that makes sense, if you think about it for more than a few minutes at a time. Fact number four: You haven't forgotten that Luca doesn't actually want to run away with you anymore. He's just pretending he never said it.

Luca has an imagination. He often puts himself into a place where he can swim freely as a sea monster with his boyfriend Alberto. It distracts himself from his slowing heart

Basically here is the run down. Luca is 16, Alberto is 17, and Guila is 16 as well. Guila has a girlfriend names Myia who also lives in Portarosso. Alberto and Luca have not seen eachother in two years and that has made them grow apart. Luca really misses Alberto and gets fuzzy feelings just thinking about him, while Alberto on the other hand also misses Luca but not that much. Alberto does start to question it later on though. Anyways here are some warnings- Minor angest, possible fighting which means there might be blood. If I think there is anything bad in the chapters I will let you know but for now here we go! Enjoy!
