Lucas leaned back in his seat as Mr. Mathews walked away, finally letting himself cry. He knew that crying meant giving up, he knew that, but what else was he supposed to do? His girlfriend got shot. His Maya. His blonde beauty. Fighting for her life. What, is he supposed to get up and give some hope-filled speech, saying 'Maya is the strongest person we know, she can do this'? No. He couldn't. Third book in the Project trilogy. In the beginning, Maya and Lucas were assigned to work on a project together. They realized their feelings for each other, but Riley was in the way. Eventually, Riley moved on and Maya and Lucas had a relationship. They lived normal teenage lives- arguing, forgiving, loving - until Lucas kills someone. Maya and Lucas run away. They eventually get caught. Maya goes home with Riley, and Lucas is sent to New York then straight to jail. Now, it's been years since Lucas was arrested. Lucas gets out of jail just in time to find out that Maya's moved on. What will happen?
