(Y/n) believes Allerdale Hall will be yet another bore, but her perceptions will be changed when she meets the lonely spirit of the mansion's owner. This fic follows the plot of Guillermo Del Toro's "Crimson Peak" but with alterations. The reader is a young, independent woman who gains the attention of a mysterious Thomas Sharpe. It basically follows the movie except for a happier ending and a lesser, but still prevalent, degree of Gothic tropes/dark tones. I am a huge fan of the movie/Tom/Guillermo and mean to only embrace and give my own romanticized take on the film! - I would also like to acknowledge that I have not written this story, it was originally posted by an author on archives of our own
