A strange portal opens in the sky and removes all colour from Koopaland. Emerging from the portal are The Royal Paintbrush, and two gigantic hands who steal all of the Koopalings, except Larry, as well as Annie. The Royal Paintbrush explains to Larry and Annie that her home of Nanatopia is being besieged, and The Seven Rainbow Knights were also kidnapped. They finally get to the mushroom kingdom, but will they even continue to survive? Or are they going to get killed by toad shoving them in zombie pits or horrible science experiments?

(I'll come up with a better title picture later) Mario is back at it again, and the Koopalings have been sent to stop him as per usual, but something about this time feels different. Mushroom Kingdom seems much less vibrant when none of the minions are respawning. Warning- This story contains major character death. If you can't handle the drama, then I suggest moving on to one of my lot cheerful stories.
