A butcher and a lumberjack work together against an oncoming threat that could effect their livelihood. In a small town of Abel, there live two brothers, Wyatt and Beck Muntz. Wyatt is a local butcher who sells meat to customers so he can feed their families, while Beck is a local lumberjack that sells lumber to clients who use it to make furniture. All of this changed when rumors spread across of unknown creatures terrorizing the town . As a result, many businesses take a hit, including Wyatt and Beck's business. The duo take matters to their own hands as they journey fro to five cities in Alaska while guiding a group of young hunters to confront and relocate the creatures in order to save both their town from famine.

Crops and animals were grown in massive greenhouses, and for once in several decades there was enough food to feed everyone on earth. That isn't to say that death and tragedy proceeded it. Billions upon billions died of the cold and starvation. The war that started after the ice age had taken tens of thousands. But that was twenty years ago. The vehicles used to continue the war had all broken down, the oil used to power them put into reserves. The sun had started shining again, though it was too cold to grow crops outside of greenhouses. The New Federation was now poor as they hadn't listened to advice and put their resources into survival and instead focused on the war. There was still war. Instead of the United States, there were hundreds of new countries where it once stood. The New Federation was still together, though much too weak to invade countries or defend itself from attack. Land shifted hands every day on the borders.
