Todo o mundo bruxo ficou sabendo da histórias deles naquela noite, enquantos os dois cresciam sendo mal tratados pelos tios de Harry, Valter e Petunia e seu filho, Duda, Petunia era irmã de Lilian, eles eram trouxas (não bruxos) Ps Dursley odiava os Potter e os Black, mas aceitaram cuidar dos dois. Ocultaram de Harry e Luna a verdadeira causa da morte de seus pais, disseram que morreram em um acidente de carro, mas, na verdade, foram assassinados por Voldemort. Sirius Black não foi morto, estava viajando na noite do ataque. Harry e Luna creseram um ajudando o outro, como irmãos.
