Caronna Courtyard
Hidden in the Warehouse District of New Orleans stands an unusual place known as Caronna Courtyard-a rambling courtyard of old brick, music, books, stray animals, students, hackers, artists, and mysteries that seem to gather there like storms over the Mississippi. To outsiders it looks like a lively creative hub where pizza boxes pile up, musicians rehearse late into the night, and curious students from Tulane, Loyola, UNO, Xavier, Delgado, and Dillard drift in and out.
But beneath the courtyard lies something older.
Val-an intuitive tarot reader with a habit of noticing patterns others miss-begins seeing the same cards appear night after night: The Moon, The Tower, and The Hermit. At the same time, rumors spread of a missing professor who vanished while researching a forgotten 1927 murder case. Old maps reveal tunnels running beneath the French Quarter and the Warehouse District, connecting cemeteries, river docks, and buildings that should not be connected at all.
Kevin, who built the courtyard into a refuge for artists and misfits, realizes that the place he created may sit directly above an ancient crossroads. In the tunnels below, wolves guard something no one fully understands. Vampires quietly maintain records of secrets buried in the city's past. And somewhere deep underground waits a stone door that has been sealed for generations.
As students, investigators, hackers, and old friends gather in the courtyard-each chasing pieces of the mystery-the energy of the place begins to wake the sleeping structure beneath the city. The more life, music, and curiosity the courtyard attracts, the more the hidden door responds.
Now Val and Kevin must decide whether the truth beneath Caronna Courtyard should remain buried... or finally be uncovered.
Because in New Orleans, some mysteries are not meant to be solved.
They are meant to be guarded.
