As she has no money and no connections, the Headmaster has allowed her to stay in the temple but not leave. Lunaria wishes to escape badly and see the outside, for what is all this knowledge worth if she cannot even experience herself? That's her reasoning for trying so hard to leave, though nothing personal to the Temple or its people themselves. And who knows?
