Jon Snow is the bastard son of Benjen Stark, and it changes everything. Except, Stannis didn't think he would fall in love with his brother's fiance and then "accidentally" start a rebellion which cost the lives of many ppl including their sanities; for example Ned was never the same again after witnessing the events at the Tower of Joy.
