A lot happened during that first summer in Gravity Falls. Dipper and Mabel moved in with Stanley and Stanford. Mabel overcame her differences with Pacifica. Wendy and the gang went to college, except for Thomson. Oh and Robbie randomly left without saying a word to anyone. It's now three years later. The Pines twins are now sixteen. Mabel Pines used to be the happiest girl in the world, but when she returns to Gravity Falls in the summer after her first year of high school. It's clear that something is different. She looks way different and doesn't smile at all. Dipper tries to get her to open up, but she just ignores him. So Dipper turns to Pacifica Northwest, although Mabel and Pacifica had never truly been friends, they started to become closer the summer before Mabel left. Pacifica wants to find out what happened to Mabel and maybe they both will discover some feelings for one another... Mabel and Dipper, now 16 come back to Gravity Falls for the summer. But when Mabel sees Pacifica, she feels something she can't understand. Mabel has always been into boys but every time she sees Pacifica, she just wants to hug her. Pacifica hates herself for feeling this way towards Mabel and keeps it a secret from her parents. She is terrified that Mabel will reject her but only she doesn't know that Mabel loves her too.

Dipper and Mabel haven't been to gravity falls in 5 years. With Ford and Stan off on there adventures, there was no home for them there anymore. Nobody outside of the town heard a pep about weirdmageddon, or Bill. Now Ford and Stan have returned for the summer, and Mabel and Dipper get to go back too. Meanwhile, Bill has fallen on some bad luck. Time baby was not pleased when he returned. Bill's memories were erased and he was turned into a 18 year old human. Placed in gravity falls again, with only one thing. A note. "The mystery shack has answers." Now that Stan and Ford are running the mystery shack for the summer, Soos gets a summer off.
