Wren Samson was having an unlucky day and all she wanted to do was to watch Lego Monkie Kid but once home her luck was the worst that ended in her death. Though when she closed her eyes to rest in peace, she was slapped awake by a little monkey hand which made her shot up in bed. Once she realized that she was the Sun Wukong but female and had to live through all of what Wukong did before and after let MK be his or rather her successor. Furthermore with the knowledge of the show in her memories can she keep everything together without anyone knowing she has a past life.

All her life Huang has been left in the dark about her past. She was found and taken in from the streets by Pigsy, and has lived with him ever since. When one of her best friends, MK, finds the legendary Monkey King's staff, Huang and the gang are thrown into a wild life-time adventure. She gains powers as vast as a wild fire and dreams of strange figures. She is puzzled and in wonder of her new gift but she has no idea on how to control it. If only Monkey King will help her if he just listened! And who's that handsome, roguish black-furred monkey over there? one day MK is approaches by a monk, who tells him that he has a message for the great sage and he needs to be taken to him right away. Once at flower fruit mountain he introduces himself as Ju Fēn, a humble monk from the Wu Huang monastery on Hiko island far in the north and the message he brings is from his Master Shouzo, asking the great sage and his protégé to come to there monastery as soon as possible with a task of protecting there greatest treasure 'The Golden Blossom' fearing it could fall into the hands of an ancient evil that they fear has returned. Once they arrive, they are introduced to the golden blossom, Kya, a female monkey demon who was born from a blossom of an apricot tree that was blessed by a divine being 800 years ago. Monkey king agrees to take her to flower fruit mountain and keep her safe, having never left the monastery or island in her entire life, Kya is excited about seeing the outside world having only read about it in books. But sadly, her new life on flower fruit mountain is very much like her life was back at the monastery, with Wukong forbidding her from leaving the island. Tired of being told what to do Kya sneaks off the island one day to hang out with Mk and Mei only to wonder off and gets herself lost and finds herself in front of a shadow theatre and meet the mysterious six eared macaque. Kya finds him fascinating and sees him as the free spirit that she wishes to be, wanting to get to know him more, Macaque however sees this as an opportunity to get revenge on Wukong, but slowly his feelings start to change the more time he spends with her and once the Lady Bone Demon returns with an ally who has his eye on Kya, Macaque must decide what is more important saving his own life or protecting someone who makes him feel alive and something he has never felt before
