A few months ago, Scar and his best friend Cub acted on a crazy idea that they believed would help the city, which led to Scar becoming HotGuy, a sort of superhero/vigilante who works alone, protecting the city nightly. Behind the scenes, however, he's a cat-loving architecture professor, who's lived in Hermit City long enough to know all of the villains and their M.O.s. Or, so he thought. When HotGuy comes across an avian mercenary one day while he's on duty, he is thoroughly confused as to why they seem to serve no one but themselves. He's even more anxious to figure out who - or what - they really are when he sees them use inhuman abilities. Something large is stirring in Hermit City, and two enemies must put aside their morals and differences and work together to save the city. This is technically a Scarian ship fic but nothing super serious between them is gonna happen until the next two books.

I thought of this idea a few hours ago and now I'm posting it on impulse -Me, October 28th Grian, having become a Watcher at the end of Evolution, has run away to a random sanctuary after the destruction of his home world. But what will he do when his magic, the magic that's now a part of him, becomes harmful to his daily life? To him? Will he choose to tell the truth about his identity when the members of Hermitcraft are informed of a Watcher's presence? No shipping. I genuinely thought of this idea a few hours ago -me, 9 pm January 17 CREDITS TO MY BEST FRIEND WHO BASICALLY HELPED ME PRODUCE HALF THE PLOT Grian is a trans theater kid who just wants to do what he loves: acting, singing, and playing parts in his high school musicals every year. His high school is very well versed in the musical theater and performing arts community, and word on the street is next year there might be a very valuable scholarship opportunity. He's always liked to be in the spotlight, but he's never been one for being the main character, unlike his rival Scar. Scar is the picture perfect replication of the Evil Tenor: always gets the main spot, always gets the most show time, and always hits his notes right. If anything, he riffs too much, and it makes Grian cringe. They hate each other, but Grian puts up with him, knowing an altercation could get them both kicked out of the program. Scar, however, doesn't care about the effects of his actions on others. He's too self-absorbed and certain in his acting skills to be afraid of getting kicked out. Not to mention, for someone in the queer community, he couldn't be less supportive. Straight and homophobic, he makes fun of all the other kids in the program. But what happens when Grian decides to take a new turn and be a tech hand for next year's musical, and he and Scar are forced to spend every day together at practice after school? Will the flame of hatred between them only grow, burning down their chances of getting what they want, or will it force both of them to change perspective... and maybe even enjoy each other's company?

With growing desperation and new feelings for one of his friends, can he manage to use his power to free them? This is 100% a ship fic. Ships: desertduo, implied boat boys, jizzie, platonic flower husbands (for now). This story is specifically set up to read Simple Life before the first five seasons (Third, Last, Double, Limited, Secret), so it is recommended that you read them in the order that they are published. I guess you could still do whatever you want. That's just what's recommended. This story does have a planned ending, and it will be worth it to reach the end, but it'll be a LONG ride. So far, the word count is 40,000, and I think I'm 85% done. There is a sequel. !!!TW: This story will contain themes of a MINOR suicide attempt, death, gore, small mental torture (Martyn lore), and slight emotional abuse. The sequel will contain themes of suicide, self-hate, depression, PTSD, and more emotional abuse (disclaimer: the "emotional abuse" is just watchers being mean). If you are sensitive to any of these topics, I do not recommend this fanfiction for you. There's nothing majorly TW-worthy (like there's just typical death and killing because life series lmao) in the first chapter (Simple Life) so if you want, you can just read that. (It works perfectly well as a stand alone story)

Grian is finally safe. He has a new home on Hermitcraft, plenty of friends, and even a boyfriend that he made last season because of a war. But what happens when Sam manages to hack into his server and come back? Deliberate shipping of Grian and Taurtis and also Scar and Grian.
