After Darling Charming saves Apple White with True Love's Kiss, the two have to deal with the aftermath of it. Apple White, the perfect princess, destined to marry Daring Charming, is in love with his sister. Darling Charming, a damsel-in-distress, just became the knight in shining armor for her brother's future wife.

After the Storybook quiets and Ever After High learns how to listen, the story does not end-it softens. In the spaces left behind by destiny, Rowan begins to understand what it means to live without being written. The students of this school are children of fairy-take legends. Life at Ever After High has changed forever. Our student body had been split into two factions— the Royals and the Rebels.

A dangerous story is bubbling and almost all the Narrators are scared to tell it. Cracks in the World of Stories are spreading, and the ominous Shadow High is gaining power. Only two young, brave Narrators, Brooke Page and Fluffle Puff, are ready to tell this tale. As the first cracks show, the Ghoul Squad are accidentally transported to Ever After High, where they meet the princesses of Ever After along with some familiar faces. After the girls recover from the shock of learning that fairytales and monsters are real, they discover that the Evil Queen has escaped her mirror prison in search of the ultimate power, hidden in Shadow High. The ghouls, princesses, ponies and Brooke and Fluffle must stop the Evil Queen and save the World of Stories from the evil that lurks in Shadow High!

With the help of new friends and old, will Ginger and her friends be able to make it back in time? Or will Ever After High have to endure the torment of yet another attempt at world domination?

With the Storybook of Legends still in Wonderland, Raven attempts to teleport her friends there despite still getting the hand of her powers. Apple, Raven, Briar, Lizzie, Kitty and Maddie end up in Wonderland in just days away from the Queen of Hearts' birthday, but they end up at Wonderland High where they meet the charming Red and White Knights. However the school is ruled by Courtly Jester who attempts to keep the girls from graduating Wonderland High for her devious plans against the Queen of Hearts.
