A fanmade sequel to The Song Of Achilles following the reuniting of Patroclus and Achilles in the afterlife

Achilles is bitter, the death of Patroclus has left his sorrow incomparable, and his anger scalding. Achilles would do anything to get Patroclus back, and he will. So I read the Song of Achilles and I LOVED it. Wrote this scene 'cause I think Patrochilles deserves a happy reunion à la Titanic. Can I just say that I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

After finishing the song of Achilles, I decided to write this headcanon so I could move on with my life. In hopes that my heart would finally mend after Madeline tore it from my chest.(T_T) I just felt that I needed a short story where we get to see Achilles and Patroclus reunited and happy in their afterlife. It was quite a cathartic process and the end result is this. I hope it gives you as much relief reading it as it gave me writing it. Enjoy :) Setting: After Thetis etches Patroclus' name on Achilles' tomb, his soul is finally unbound from the earth. Patroclus is free to reunite with his lover, friend, companion and protector, Achilles. P.S My heart is still broken, but less so after writing this.

writing this epilogue helped me stop crying and ease the pain in my chest. i needed to hear more of the reuniting of our beautiful boys, so i wrote this to give myself a glimpse of their eternal paradise and to let my mind rest. this is a very hurried draft and also my first publishing on wattpad, and i'm not sure how all this works - but suggestions and edits are more than welcome, if those are things you can do on here! i sure hope so! i love you all dearly. hopefully one day we will recover from our wonderful madeline ripping our hearts from our chests in the most beautiful way imaginable. Unable to resist, I lean over and delicately place a whisper of a kiss on his lips. He smiles and pulls me to him again before forcing me upright so he can shower me in a barrage of tender, featherlight kisses on my face. We laugh and I once again admire him. His laugh rings out and his eyes close and crinkle at the corners where the evidence of past joy sits.
