My heart is pounding right now. It sounds like it's going to break out of my chest at any moment. Thump. Thump. Thump. You know, people always say that: that their heart is going to break out of their chest. That phrase doesn't make sense. Hearts don't break out of chests. They aren't birds in cages or convicts in prison. Hearts can't break out. Maybe mine will. The first heart to literally explode out of a chest because life decided to screw over one person in particular. One person in a city of other people who were just as cursed. One person working with a convicted criminal. One person... I'm only eighteen. Eighteen. How did this happen? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I know I'm not making a lick of sense. It's... I can't get my thoughts straight. It happened so fast. It all happened so fast. I just need to focus on my heartbeats or anything that's not this.
