One month after the fire at Split River High School, the school is finally reopening its doors. For Maddie Nears and her friends, senior year is supposed to be a chance to move forward after everything that happened. But not everyone is ready to let go. With the school boundaries gone, the ghosts of Split River can finally leave the place that trapped them for decades. Still, Charley, Rhonda, Quinn, and Yuri remain close to the school, struggling with the emptiness left behind after their friends crossed over. Every week, Maddie visits them at the old bus stop, with Simon never too far behind, trying to keep their unusual friendship alive. Then the impossible happens. The ghosts who crossed over return. Janet Hamilton comes back with fears about what Van Heidt may be planning. Dawn returns because she couldn't stay away from the people she loves. And Wally Clark comes back for Maddie. As old mysteries resurface and new dangers begin to threaten Split River once again, Maddie and the others discover that some connections are strong enough to survive death itself - and that sometimes fate is willing to offer a second chance.

You all the story of Madison Nears but let's go back a year to the Evan Tate Incident Of 2022 Evangeline Tate was like every other pretty girl she had secrets bad mental health and suicide issues she smiled at schoo and cried in her closet when she got home only one person cared abojt her and she didn't know it Becuase he was a ghost.

Hell is a teenage girl. The opening quote to what would become a cult classic but was underappreciated in its time. A quote from a non-appreciated film, perhaps the most famous ghost film ever: "I see dead people" The Fier name has a bad legacy in Split River. Joel Fier and Wally Clark were good friends, being on the same football team, until September thirtieth, 1983, when Wally's knee buckled and Joel accidentally slammed into him, resulting in Wally's instant death via broken neck. He went from football player to social outcast before October. Twenty-two years later, he had a daughter with the cheer captain and valedictorian of the class of '84, now FBI agent, Elizabeth Cadman. Her parents separated when she was young, and her mother moved to Milwaukee while she stayed in Split River until she was thirteen, and events happened that caused her to move in with her mom. Neither of her parents fully moved on from Wally's death as they both had loved him, so she grew up walking past his picture in the living room each day as they tried to raise her to make sure she would never know the pain and guilt of feeling responsible for the death of someone so dear to her. But nothing could've stopped what happened one month ago. She moved back to Split River after a physically and mentally traumatic incident, her family legacy now having a pattern and knowing exactly how her dad felt after Wally's death. She is the antisocial outcast who has managed to fall back in with her old friends, but she is keeping a secret from them, for everybody. Ever since she woke up from that coma, two weeks before the school year began, she has been able to see ghosts and when she goes to Split River High, she sees the ghost of the boy she has been told about for as long as she can remember but then one of her friends goes missing and ends up stuck at the school with no memory of how she died but Mia can see her. EDIT: SUPER SLOW PERIODICALLY UPDATED Angelina died. She fucking died. And somehow, I feel like it's all my fault. Angelina Johnson died a few days after Madison Nears, it no longer seemed coincidental, and the chances of a soon-to-be serial killer were on the rise. At a minimum, it was a double homicide.
