A Devil's Contract.
Dr. Adaline Clarke never expected her night shift to end in the back of a black SUV, held captive by dangerous men with even deadlier intentions. When mafia boss David Carizzo is shot and on the brink of death, she is forced to patch him up under the threat of violence. But before she can escape, his attackers return to finish the job. The only way to keep him alive is to move... and fast.
They flee to the tarmac, boarding a private jet bound for Italy, and in a desperate attempt to stabilize Carizzo, they take Dr. Clarke with them.
Thrown into a world of power, violence, and unimaginable wealth, Clarke finds herself trapped in
his empire, a kingdom built on blood and loyalty. She doesn't belong here. He knows it. She knows it. And yet... Carizzo begins to soften in ways he never expected. Small things at first-a larger room, a bookshelf filled with medical texts, a seat at the long dining table instead of a corner in the shadows. He doesn't do kindness. And yet, for her, he does.
She is supposed to fear him. He is supposed to own her.
But somewhere between whispered threats and quiet conversations, between silk sheets and blood-stained hands, they begin to fall.
Neither of them will admit it.
But love was never supposed to be part of the deal. And in Carizzo's world, love is a dangerous weakness.
He built himself from fire and blood. He does not ask for respect, he takes it. Fear and loyalty are two sides of the same coin, and he holds them both in his hand. He's not kind. He's not merciful. But he is fair. Family is strength, love is weakness, and power is the only thing that lasts. Everything else is temporary. He did not choose this life. But he will be damned if he let's anyone take it from him.
