Who is the hero of a story? --- At the edge of the world, a man stands over a corpse and wonders if everything is finally over. He was never meant to be the hero. She was. Years earlier, Princess Irene would have laughed at the idea. Reckless, stubborn, and far too eager to punch monsters in the face, she spends more time causing trouble than preparing to rule a kingdom. Her bodyguard Gregor knows two things: Irene will never listen to warnings. One day her choices might change the fate of the world. What begins as a simple trip outside the capital quickly turns into something far more dangerous. Monsters lurk in the forests. Old treaties hide uncomfortable truths. Ok I am total shit at writing actual stories but I have a strong imagination. I can always picture these really vivid scenes and perfect characters but, I can't carry out a story. Just as the title says

First off, this story was not written by me. I am posting it for a friend of mine, with permission of course. This took place in a Dungeons & Dragons game over 30 years ago. It is a about how one of the player characters got his start; Crentar Bronn. He is a human ranger of 1st level in this story. This is important to note, because it'll bring more perspective as you read the story. I was the DM (Dungeon Master) for this game. At the time, we were still in high school, which of course, gives away our age. lol I decided to have each character do it solo before they actually met up with each other. A teaser so-to-speak. Eventually, there was five player characters in the game. My friend who ran Crentar Bronn remembers this whole solo adventure to this very day in great detail. A few years after the game is when he wrote this story. We were recently reminiscing about 'old times' and he told me that he actually wrote it out as a story. He was then able to find it on an old hard drive & then sent it to me. I was very surprised at how good this is & how great his memory was from that adventure. I'm flattered that he was so inspired by it, that he turned it into a story! I hope you enjoy this early adventure of Crentar Bronn as much as we did.
