A magic revealed oneshot. When Camelot is attacked by a powerful sorceress Merlin is left with no other choice but to reveal his most carefully guarded secret to the person he is most scared of losing. What will happen? Starting at the beginning of Season 4, Lancelot and Merlin manage to close the rift without a sacrifice. With Arthur curious about magic, Merlin finds himself revealing his talents to the most trusted of the knights and to the prince. Together they decide that they will bring magic back to Camelot when Arthur becomes king. Also, a funny Merlin meme in every chapter. For no reason, just cause I liked them. And I don't own Merlin, obviously. Just the story.

In a world governed by magic, Ethan's life is filled with misery and despair. When he mysteriously finds himself in a realm of enchantment, he believes he may finally discover his own magical abilities. However, to his dismay, he learns that he possesses no such powers and becomes a target for the government.

Merlin decides to reach out to Princess Mithian after she leaves Camelot. He understands how valuable an alliance with Nemeth would be for Camelot. Their letters and correspondence eventually branch off to something more. (Cross-posted on AO3)

When Merlin shows Arthur his secret, he doesn't take it so well. He banish Merlin from Camelot and his return will be punished by death. But soon after Arthur have send Merlin away he regrets it. The next year he tries to find his friend, but fails. Suddenly he gets other thinks to worry about when Morgana attacks and she is not alone.

It's modern times. Merlin has been living alone since Arthur's death. What happens when Arthur returns, how does Arthur react to Merlin's magic. Merlin only expected Arthur's return but he got all the Knights and Gwen too. Basically a combination story of Merlin's magic and Arthur and Co adjusting to the modern world.

Arthur figures out Merlin has magic/Merlin tells him - this story has two alternative versions of chapter one but the rest is the same. Both begin in season 5 episode 5 when Arthur has to decide whether to save Mordred by legalising magic. What follows is how the story might have played out if Merlin had revealed his magic/Arthur found out about Merlin's magic at this stage - would Mordred still have joined Morgana?
