The Istari are Five, but everyone only ever remembers three of them. Of the two Blue Wizards not even their brethren know much. Their names are forgotten.

The four towers guarding over the inner ring of the massive stronghold were the first thing travelers would see when riding up to the Grey city of Valier. It is held by an immortal race of men. These men, despite them not being bound to the fate of mortality, were not remotely similar to elves in their appearance. They were created by Manwë, Ulmo and Melkor on accident when their enourmous energies crashed, fused and birthed from bare rock, water, fire and air a living, breathing creature. Their appearance and temper was a reminder of their creation. Isolated from the folks of middleearth they lived a life amongst their own, hailing their creators and the Iluvatár as their highest gods. They were the only folk that still spoke the name of the forsaken Valar with worship in their hearts. I do not claim any ownership of the Lord of the Rings franchise. Rory is the caretaker of a famous old castle, it is said to the the home of a terrible banshee. Of course he doesnt believe in ghost stories, until one day when he does encounter something from out of this world...

The house of Finwë had never been known for it's welcoming nature. Whilst many were led to believe this was due to the Oath of Fëanor, the fell vow to kill those who laid hands on the Silmarli, the reality was much worse. Finwë himself was a kind and open ellon, and Míriel, his first wife, was as well. It wasn't the Oath that changed everything, it was Míriel's death, and Fëanor's sudden spiral into relative madness, driven by the one they called Melkor, into hiding his greatest creation, and then losing them to that very man. The poisoning of Melkor outreached his purpose, and became his downfall. For if he had not taken the Silmarili, he would never have been the goal of Beren's ill fated mission, nor would one Silmaril make it's way to the Nauglamir, nor into the hands of Dior, to Elwing, to the Valar and turn the tide. For though much ruin came about with them, they became the single sparkling light of hope, even upon a dark crown. This is a story of Arda without Beren- and subsequently, without hope- and how one Maia manages to cave the cowardly heart of a dark immortal king to her purposes, and perhaps, to victory over the darkness of the land.

Lord of the Rings/Hobbit/Silmarillion fanfiction Tauriel Thranduiliel had run away. She couldn't take it anymore; after the death of her mother when she was scarcely 100 years old, her father had become more and more protective of her and her brother, Legolas. It broke her heart, but finally, she slipped past the guards and into the dark forest. She couldn't have then imagined the chaos and destruction that came from that decision. Combination book- and movie-canon DISCLAIMER: My character Tauriel and the character from the Hobbit have no connection other than name (the latter doesn't exist in this story). When Oromë and Yavanna, two who love the forest, see the threat before anyone else, they form an alliance and convince Aulë to forge another Silmaril to protect the land from a force more powerful than Sauron.

Of course, none of them are mine, only the protagonist is my own creation.
