"No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell."
― Carl Jung
Combining seemingly separate themes and inspirations from Norse Mythology, Christianity and Dark-Fantasy worlds, 'Aryte' seeks to take two very different characters and push them into parallel journeys that are are inevitably drawn together into a dysfunctional, chaotic and uneasy partnership that will require compromises and sacrifices both large and small by all those involved, and even so may end up making things much worse.
This is the story of Signý , a High-Maiden of the Valkyries and the only one of their order to not look down on the rest of Heaven as cowards, weaklings and traitors, but who is also a loyal servant of the High Council and their secret missions, a point of intense contention with her twin sister, although they can at least agree on all the other races being inferior.
This is the story of Aridan, a cursed and conflicted man who has always struggled between his passionate nature and the desire to do right. A man who cares so much, that his love is twisted into hatred and rage towards those who would do people wrong. Playing loose with rules and challenging traditions, he seeks to make it to the next day and write as many wrongs as he can along the way.
