Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring Sa kwento, ang apat na panahon ay nasa apat na direksyon ng mundo. Sa Hilaga ay ang Winter, sa Timog ay ang Autumn, sa Kanluran ay ang Summer at sa Silangan naman ay Spring. May apat na hihirangin na tagapangalaga o isang 'Maiden' kung kanilang tawagin na lingid sa kanilang kaalaman ay magmumula sa ibang mundo. Ang mga maiden na ito ang magiging tagapangalaga ng bawat lupain. Bilang mga napili, isa sa mga layunin nila ang protektahan ang kani-kanilang mga kinakatawang tribo. Bibigyan ng tungkulin na hanapin ang apat na piraso ng brilyante na sumasagisag sa kanilang panahon. Nahati ito dahil sa kanilang nagawang mga kasalanan isang daang taon na ang nakalipas. Pinarurusahan sa kanilang ginawang kamalian.. Ang mga tagapangalaga lamang ang siyang may kakayahan na mahanap at mapagtagpo-tagpo ang pira-piraso nito. Siyang mauuna sa paglagay ng nabuong piraso ng diyamante sa Cryze Dome ay siyang bibiyayaan ng apat din na kahilingan. Sa bawat kahilingan, kapalit nito ang kanilang hindi inaasahan.. Sa muling pagpagtatagpi-tagpi ng mga diyamante, kahaharapin nila ang matinding pagsubok sa pakikipagdigmaan sa pakikipagunahan ng ibang mga lupain. Ito ay para sa kaniya-kaniyang misyon at hangarin ng bawat lupain. Magagawa ba nilang maayos ito kung kapalit nito ang kanilang mga pinapangalagaan? Ipagpapalit ba nila ang mga ito alang-alang sa mga tao na nageexist lamang sa loob ng libro?
