Takemichi and Mikey are dating in this au//alternate universe. They've known each other since they were in elementary, Takemichi//9, Mikey//10 in summer before Takemichi's 6th year of elementary school. Takemichi is currently 13, and Mikey is 14.

She loved to draw, specially paint the ocean; she always went to the beach and draw the beautiful blue horizon. She also loved boats, she always wondered how it would feel to be on one, sailing and crushing against the waves, she always wondered how was the world beyond her little island. Yet Takemichi's tranquil existence was abruptly shattered when her parents made an arranged marriage, burying her fate to the son of another village chief. Even thought she understands the difficult times of war her village is facing, Takemichi yearned for her own happiness and ever lasting peace. Determined to escape her fate, Takemichi decided to run away and seek a new life far from her country. One night, she found herself at the harbor, where she sneaked onto a boat in search of freedom. Sano 'Mikey' Manjiro is warm. Not like, abnormally warm, or uncomfortably warm - just the kind of person with good circulation. It's sort of awesome because Takemichi takes after his mom and grandma and is more than a little prone to being chilly. This predisposition to a less-than-warm running temperature is part of why he's always bundled up in layers upon layers of clothing. Shirts, hoodies, jackets - anything he can find that offers even the tiniest reprieve from the chilly nights, he'll take it, even if it means sticking his ice-cube toes on his boyfriend's lovely warm skin.
