Make-believe Stories

When Samantha wakes up, she's in the middle of a forest with only a note. She can't remember anything. Everything is a waterfall of colours, memories blur together, colours flash by, but no images she can grasp. Why are her memories gone? She doesn't know. All she knows is that the note left behind says "You are Samantha, you are important. Something big is happening and you will play your part. Find the girl called Amaru." Amaru can make ice and snow crystallise in thin air, make it rain, hail, thunder. "No one can know." Her teacher, Ramona, had said. Ramona found her when she was two. She took her in and helped control her powers. Suddenly, she is murdered, and in the coming power struggle between the kingdoms, Amaru will have to choose a side. Amaru doesn't know who to trust, maybe she should learn about the Samantha girl in her teacher's notes.

In hindsight... opening a particularly suspicious book in a crazy old bats' attic wasn't a very good idea. Oh well, too late now. It's not like any of us were hurt. At least not yet.
