Your lifestyle is important.

I wrote this short story after seeing an article on the news of a Syrian boy in an ambulance. His hair seemed to be coated with blood and he sat silently, probably in shock as he waited for paramedics to help him. This story is meant to raise awareness of the wars that have been raging for years in Syria and other countries. Remind people of the humanity, or rather the lack of it, in war. When refugees are denied a place to flee they are forced to remain in the battleground they once called home and see everything they used to love so dearly destroyed, turned into a "casualty of war". To remind people that just because it isn't happening here, doesn't mean it isn't happening. We constantly see stories like this on the news, but then again, what do we do about it? Give likes on a picture to demonstrate... what?

Struggle is a natural part of life. We've all experienced it in some way, shape, or form, and yet society refuses to acknowledge those who are in such desperate situations. In my writing I shed light upon this issue through conveying different disadvantageous scenarios that, unfortunately, receive a lack of recognition and assistance. ***This work is purely fictional and has no intent on glorifying unhealthy circumstances. It was written merely to spread awareness for situations like those depicted.

----September Realistic Fiction Challenge---- Luanne Hayes visits her father once every month at his WIlderness Adventure park, Falcon, but everything changes when she learns that due to financial struggles, her father might have to close the park. Luanne and her best friend Zachary, work together to concoct a plan that will hopefully save Falcon.

I lost my best friend due to drunk driving and with drunk driving becoming a serious issue, I decided to share our story. I want to see change and I want to make a difference, I don't want others to have to go through what I went through, I want to see progress. Progress starts with always wearing your seatbelt, being aware, cautious and informed.

It's not impossible to be eco-friendly, and the planet's well-being is worth paying a little extra. Corona recently introduced plastic-free six-pack beer rings that break down into organic material. Patagonia turns plastic bottles into parkas. Lush Cosmetics creates solid shampoo bars to reduce packaging waste. It's possible. It's happening. Follow their example.
