"Sorry", Sunghoon started off, tracing the back of his left hand, a habit he knew like his own, "I didn't know if I would get to talk to you"
"Yeah, we've been good at that the past 4 years", Jake added with a strained laugh, surprised at his own words.
Something flashed behind Sunghoon's eyes, some kind of nervous tension, one he saw way too many times before.
Before his piano recital, before asking his dad if Jake could stay at his place, before he kissed him in the parking lot beside his family's truck for the first time.
He felt like he was seventeen again, sharing kisses that tasted like way too much cheap wine and cherry coke.
A sigh left Jake's lips, one he couldn't keep to himself.
