Here, I discuss my unusual relationship with director Makoto Shinkai's work, the resulting intrigue of this film's animation, and the surprisingly applicable ideas within the director's most recent work.

The twenty-fourth entry of the 2022-2023 Film Journal is the long-waited new Makoto Shinkai film, "Suzume". Here, jumping off from my thoughts detailed in "Weathering with You" two film journals ago, I take a look at how Shinkai's latest work evokes my current opinion of him as a filmmaker.

My version of the story proceeding after the ending of Your Name which leaves us at a cliff hanger. Frankly the story, the animations, the characters everything was sheer brilliant in the movie. I hereby make this Fan Fic as a "tribute" I could say for the people behind it. Was probably one of the best thing I've laid my eyes on.

Mitsuha Miyamizu is the daughter of Toshiki Miyamizu, the CEO of Miyamizu Industries. She has a loving family: a loving mother, a strict yet caring father, a loving and stern grandmother, a loving fiancé and best of all... a sweet, chubby little sister. She works at Tachibana Industries as a fashion designer. Life couldn't've been better until a random girl shows up, claiming to be her real sister. Ever since that declaration, her entire family's reputation drops and her fiancé cheats by sleeping with her supposed sister. Eventually, she and her family are killed before she even reached the age of twenty-five. Just as Mitsuha thought everything was over, she returns back to the day of her birth. Will she be able to save her family from the tragedy?

The story takes place a few days after the end of the film, and I write it thinking about what I and everyone who watched it would like to see after the credits. Here, Suzume will turn 18 and plans to confess to Souta, but is afraid that even after everything they've been through together, he won't reciprocate her feelings. OBS1: This story will contain some original characters that will serve to expand the story and the situations that the characters will live.
