In the year 20XX, Kamen Rider has become a global phenomenon. What was once a Japanese hero franchise has grown into an international sensation, inspiring countless forms of entertainment-from merchandise and themed food and beverages to one of the biggest developments yet: a fully immersive virtual-reality game.
Developed by Bandai, the game was built around a revolutionary technology inspired by the concept of the NerveGear from Sword Art Online. Players could enter a vast Metaverse, create their own customized avatars, explore virtual worlds, form teams, and-most importantly-become their very own Kamen Rider. The game was an unprecedented success.
Then, everything changed. Players began dying inside the game. What was supposed to be harmless entertainment turned into a global catastrophe as people became trapped within the Metaverse, while mysterious incidents began occurring outside of it as well. The project was erased from public knowledge and sealed away under a classified name:
PROJECT ALPHA.
Years later, strange monsters suddenly begin appearing across the world. At first, they are dismissed as unexplained biological phenomena or acts of terrorism. But soon, a terrifying connection is discovered. Some of the people who once participated in Project Alpha are able to access the powers and forms they used inside the game-without logging in. Their virtual avatars have become reality. Among them is Hazril, a young man from Malaysia who once entered Project Alpha like millions of others. Now possessing the ability to transform into a Kamen Rider, Hazril finds himself drawn into a worldwide conflict against creatures unlike anything humanity has ever encountered. Together with other former players, each carrying their own Rider powers, memories, and secrets, Hazril begins a journey across the world to uncover the truth behind Project Alpha. But the monsters are only the beginning.
