"Just one woman", one man said.
"Just a mere woman", another said.
"You mean a mere woman", a red caped elder of the king's cabinet insinuated.
"Yes, just one woman", Ezemuo the chief priest of Ozala diety answered. "Dares to challenge the gods", he continued with half laugh with no mirth in his eyes.
"Impressing but lacking, sour but sweet, sad yet beautiful, the gods are wise indeed", he shakes his head in rhythm to the said irony.
"What do you mean Ezemuo (Chief priest in Igbo language)?", an elder inquired clearly confused with his answers.
"Ozala has proclaimed that only she and she only can be his mouth piece", everyone gasped, mumurs were heard among the group of titled men in the shrine of Ozala.
"You mean ........", one staggered. "Yes, the deities has spoken and no one shall intefer", he said silencing them all which made them clouded with fear. "That woman, only her and her only, just one woman is the one your fates are in her hands", he said with a hearty laugh giving all a chill.
"And until she is crowned the high priestess of Ozala, everyone will continue to perish in this disaster", he said with wide open eyes shocking them more.
All were left speechless.
when he saw them cowering in fear, he gave a devilish laugh.
