The Villainess Was Me
I died hating a fictional woman.
Her name was Sasha. Same as me
The villainess of the most ridiculous reverse-harem novel I'd ever read.
In her world, women ruled households, while gers-beautiful men marked by a red mole between their brows-could bear children.
Sasha was rich.
Cruel.
Arrogant.
And married to three terrified husbands.
According to the novel, she would lose her fourth potential husband, drown in a river, and leave her three husbands to miserable deaths.
I hated the ending.
"Who writes something this cruel?"
Then I laughed.
"If I were Sasha, I'd change the whole damn story."
Those were my last words.
When I opened my eyes again, I wasn't in my office.
I was lying in a strange wooden bed.
A frightened maid was calling me Young Mistress.
I stumbled toward a bronze mirror.
A beautiful woman stared back.
Long black hair.
Cold eyes.
And a tiny red mark painted on her forehead.
No.
Not painted.
A marriage seal.
Three names waited on the table.
Elias.
Ren.
Adrian.
My husbands.
My heart stopped.
Then I heard something outside.
The distant roar of a river.
The same river where Sasha was supposed to die.
I smiled despite myself.
"So..."
I looked into the mirror.
"The villainess is alive."
A strange whisper drifted through the room.
"Then change your fate."
My smile vanished.
Because the voice...
was mine.
