Balangir, Oct 25: Gobinda Sahu, the prime accused in the sensational murder of Kalahandi school teacher Mamita Meher, has been sent to jail on Monday after his five-day remand period ended on Sunday. Sahu, president of Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district, was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Bangomunda of Balangir district this morning.

Mamita Meher was the refuge of her family. The college has received unreasonable sympathy because of the home minister's own constituency. The Home Minister has been accused of involvement in the killings. The college has developed, but the village has not. The minister did not focus on the basic needs of the people.

Mamita Meher murder case: BJP delegation meets victim's family Balangir, Oct 26: A 15-member delegation of BJP State unit met the family members of lady teacher Mamita Meher, who was brutally killed on October 8, at their house in Odisha's Balangir district on Tuesday. The BJP delegation, led by party's State president Samir Mohanty, met the family members of the deceased lady teacher at their house in Jharni village under Tureikela block in the district.
