After a freak accident at his part-time job, Leland McLoughlin discovers he has extraordinary powers. And when a villain begins to wreak havoc on the city he and his small family call home, he decides to do what's best to keep the citizens of Berwind City safe; become the Mandrill and fend off this menace. But will he be able to keep it a secret from his family? And will the lines he's drawn in the sand be blurred along the way?

What begins as a fun day at the zoo takes a horrific turn when a father, trying to reach the baseball cap his son lost in a holding pen, comes face to face with the inhabitant of the exhibit, a bloodthirsty and territorial Mandrill monkey.
