Mankind Stories

The year is 2002, the world is calm for now. Tensions are rising between the Global Union of the west and the Greater Soviet Republics of the east. The world has been in this state ever since the end of world war three in 1975. The republics and the union are both preparing for the war that would push mankind over the edge. Can mankind be saved?

Dr. Valin laughed, but it sounded harsh and cruel, ricocheting off the walls that surrounded them. He said, “I will never leave her alone, and you know that, Aaron. How foolish of you, to send her straight into the belly of the beast. You always were the one to take risks, but this time you went too far. Katherine sacrificed herself for this and you know that. I do hope the guilt eats away at you.” Emyle is a psychopath--well, no, more like a high-functioning sociopath, even though she does not know it. She has lived a dangerous life, aiding her father in his mission to stop the experiments taking place at Lumiere Biopharm's research facility. There is only one purpose to life, and that is doing what her father tells her to do. But, at the final frontier, when her father has told her to carry out the most important part of their plan, they are tricked into underestimating their enemy. Emyle's father goes missing and she is lost, without instruction or guidance, in the facility. The only thing she can do is to continue to attempt to carry out her father's last instructions. However, this could lead to much more complications than she had originally thought....

Forged by endless wars and armed with mastery over the universe's fundamental forces, humans claim something unthinkable: they alone are made in God's image. Bearing ancient symbols the aliens once worshipped as metaphor, they offer not extinction-but submission. As faith, science, and identity collide amid orbital annihilation, one witness begins to fear a terrifying truth: perhaps the Creator's image was never abstract. Perhaps it was coming for them all.

*Sighs* Dear logbook... *Caugs* I don't know how much longer I can take this, the earth.... it's a complete mess. Seas are rising rapidly, the desserts are hotter then ever, storms, tsunamis, floods... everything is happening faster and faster... I-I hoped I could have saved our planet, but I'm afraid Project Alpha is a failure! Within days, the temperature of the sun will rise with a stunning 35.4 degrees... I'm... afraid it will wipe out humanity within days... I- I am so sorry I could not have saved mankind in time... I guess... I guess this is the end... ... But before I go... there's a slight chance Project A will somehow manage to work... But for now... this was James O. I hope to see mankind soon again... *Sighs*.... goodbye... *Click*.

"I was just trying to talk to you. Don't you ever feel lonely living in your own little world?" With still no response the boy had enough and started to walk out of the room before he heard a whisper then stopped. "Don't you feel powerless living in other people's worlds?" He turned around at the girl unsure if she was the one who said that. humanity ABOVE ALL,

She clearly didn't see that coming. Now, she is desperate to get out.

I am dead. But death is not quiet. It is not peace. It is a hollow, rotting thing that peels me apart piece by piece. I see my sins carved into the walls, whispering in voices I almost recognize. They say I deserve this. They say I was always meant to end up here. Maybe they're right. Maybe I was doomed before I even took my first breath. Maybe I was never meant to leave.

Reflections

Alice, a 26 year old woman, had been leading a normal life. But things start changing for her as she nearly escapes her death. Trapped in a space oblivious of time, she discovers the truth about her world, only to realize how she is responsible for creating an irreparable rift in time. . . Ok, so I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind yesterday and it sort of inspired me to write this. I've always wanted to write about time and space and this is my first ever science-fiction. Enjoy!

Look at it, How beautiful it is, Flowers in a breeze. Things won't be like this in a year or so, If polluting is all we do. Seize the day, Seize the night. Things won't always be this way It'll be hellish, Thousands will die, Voices will cry. Nature can't help itself, As mankind. Help nature to save yourselves.
