Lord Gwyn, near the end of his reign, has learned of the terrible news of Oolacile and the spread of the Dark. Legend says Knight Artorias was sent and had swiftly defeated the Abyss, but truth is rarely ever pure and honorable when it comes to legends in Lordran... The story of Oolacile from Dark Souls told in three parts. The first covers the origin of Manus, Father of the Abyss, and what exactly doomed Oolacile. The second ventures into Knight Artorias himself and his legendary storming of Oolacile. The last part concludes the story with the arrival of The Chosen Undead and their part in the tale. Once there was three brothers, Their names were Uxas, Izaya and Manus. On the day when Uxas and Izaya became New Gods, Manus didn't, for he himself tried to stop the conflict his brothers were making, but was killed by them. But his death was a catalyst for him. Though the New Gods are powerful, they are nothing compared to the Abyss.

I have built great tombs for kings, which still litter the world. I have raised mountains, created islands, and flooded plains at the whims of my masters. I have started, fought, and won great battles. I have assassinated kings and peasants alike, having no choice in the matter. I have been around since the dawn of civilization, and before. I have helped found cities, states, and even empires. I am the advisor of kings, the slave of weavers, and the conquerer of cities. Perhaps you have head of me. I am Manus.
