The Reef has fallen to lawlessness, and now the most wanted criminals in the galaxy - the barons and Uldren Sov - have organized a jailbreak at the prison of elders. A hunter nicknamed Shadow and Cayde-6 have been sent in to bring law and order back to the embattled facility, but things do not go as planned. Facing insurmountable odds, Cayde-6 pays the ultimate price and Shadow...well...now she has a thirst for revenge.

*Arcbound Vow - The Reckoning of Control* is the third installment in the series, inverting the dynamic of the previous conflict. After recovering from the psychological warfare of the Witch Queen, Azaroth (Warlock of Control) is targeted directly by the Witness. He is ambushed by a focused psychic blast from a Pyramid gateway, leaving his physical body catatonic while his consciousness is imprisoned in the Witness's Void-a realm of Perfect Logic. The Witness tortures Azaroth by showing him a flawless, ordered universe, convincing the Warlock that the Arcbound Vow and Aries' chaos are the root of all his professional and personal failures. Meanwhile, Aries (Hunter of Chaos) struggles with crippling light instability and must step into Azaroth's role. Driven by the mantra, "I must be his anchor now" Aries forms an unprecedented Chaos Crew: Eris Morn (to map the Darkness/Void entry), Mara Sov (to tether their minds), and the newly resurrected, still self-interested Savathûn (who understands the Witness's lies). Aries and Savathûn project their consciousness into the Void. Aries successfully tracks Azaroth's residual chaotic light to the final psychological trap, where the Witness projects a Phantom Warlock-a flawless, stable Azaroth who rejects Aries for his lack of discipline. In the climax, Savathûn attempts to use the moment to tempt Aries toward permanent, ultimate chaos, but Aries rejects both extremes. He uses the lessons of control Azaroth taught him to find the single unstable variable in the Witness's perfect illusion. He projects a powerful emotional resonance of their shared, messy life, forcing Azaroth to remember that love is not a logical equation. The fusion of Aries' disciplined chaos and Azaroth's receptive control shatters the Witness's hold. Azaroth is rescued, but the experience leaves both Guardians profoundly changed, with their roles permanently destabilized.

Two years passed after David Vasquez saved the Last City from the likes of Upgrade and since that time many things have changed across the planet Earth. However, all had but forgotten the threat promised by Crota fifteen years ago. His father, Oryx, has arrived at the Sol System and with him the Taken, a legion of corrupt, once living beings changed by darkness. This time, not even the powers of Invictus are strong enough to stop him.

Freya just stood there in absolute shock, and it terrified her to think that in seven years all this had happened, but she remembered what Salone had warned her of. This was only the beginning. She'd only scratched the surface of everything she missed... -- Follow the story of my hunter from the Destiny 2 franchise! He's arrived in Sol looking for revenge-looking for HER after she killed his son. Unfortunately the Hive God has already struck, and decimated the Awoken fleet along with their Queen, Mara Sov. Seeking revenge, The Guardian teams up with Cayde-6, the Hunter Vanguard and together they find a way to get aboard Oryx's ship to stop him once and for all. Along the way though, Cayde catches glimpses into WHO the Guardian truly is behind that stone cold mask she always wears... And makes a vow to himself.

A love story between a crucible guardian and mysterious stranger

Ascending into this pure form is unlike anything anyone can ever experience. It's almost too hard to explain. Your likeness, everything about you from your personality, your face, body type, voice, and knowledge. It stays the same. Everything you know is the same except for your age, or aging perhaps. You age three to four times slower than any human would. I was eighteen years old when i was awoken. Some say i still look eighteen, when in human years, i would be twenty-one. My skin is a pale, ashen gray, with the exception of the pure white glow that flows across my skin, wherever you look (yes even down there) no matter where on the body. My eyes are glowing orange, and my hair is raven black, and brushed back. I travelled out of the reef on the queens behalf, to see what awoken on earth were up to. That was three years ago. I assume that i was presumed dead, and that i was of no use to mara sov. The reason you might ask, is that i became someone i never wanted to be, a guardian, touched by the travellers light. I am a hunter, not any ordinary hunter, i am rogue in the eyes of vanguard, and if i were to return to the reef, a ghost. My name, is Kyne Brooks, and this is my story.

Following the events of: *The Reckoning of Control* the dynamic of the Arcbound Vow is inverted. Aries has assumed the role of the controlled Anchor, while Azaroth struggles with the psychological fragility left by the Witness. This instability attracts a new, dangerous variable - Uldren Sov (now a reborn Hunter Guardian). Uldren, possessing an uncanny understanding of Guardian psychology, and a hunter's competitive spirit, targets Aries's newly acquired, rigid discipline. He sees Aries as a superior Hunter shackled by a weaker Warlock. Using subtle manipulations, Uldren exploits Aries's deep, protective fatigue and the buried resentment over having to suppress his own chaotic nature. Uldren successfully brainwashes Aries, convincing him that true freedom and challenge lie with him. The corrupted Vow leads Aries and Uldren to retreat to the Tangled Shore, where Uldren enforces his dominance, resulting in passionate, desperate intimacy that satisfies Aries's brainwashed need for dominance and speed. Azaroth, emotionally devastated but outwardly stoic, must hunt them down. The confrontation climaxes with Aries, still under Uldren's control, delivering a brutal rejection of Azaroth. Azaroth must overcome his own fractured control and the fear of failure to break the brainwash. In a chaotic mid-fight maneuver orchestrated by Uldren, Azaroth finds the opportunity to perform the one act that transcends logic and manipulation: a passionate kiss, which breaks the mind-control and restores the true Vow. Reunited, they capture Uldren Sov and return him to Queen Mara for judgment, finally restoring the paradoxical balance of the Arcbound Vow.

The Ranger of the Reef, and his lost Fireteam decide to whether help save the World, or save their time and get some ramen instead..
