She tries to get to know him but she soon realises that he doesn't care about her and thinks she's a big part of the reason why he was put there in the first place. Eventually they manage to escape and Desiree tries to flee leaving Kai and the rest of the clan drama behind,Seeing a chance to finally go after what she wanted most to be reunited with her sister. Kai ruins the plans by coming up with a sinister plan she decides to head back to mystic Falls to try and stop him. Getting wrapped up in his plot she ended up dying along with the rest of the clan. She thought she was gone for good until she woke up in transition just like Kai did. Eventually things lead her to the beautiful french quarter where she is about to have even more adventure enter her life. She quickly finds herself tangled up in the Mikaelson family and everything that comes with it.
