Amelia Rose Simmons is very well known in the supernatural and human worlds of New Orleans. In the human world she is a very well respected physician specialised in paediatrics and obstetrics. She is a pioneer for research in women's health and fetal medicine and is the lead attending in the paediatric wing of the University Medical Centre New Orleans. However in the supernatural world she is known as the princess of New Orleans, her son Marcel Gerald being the king. Since realising her passion lied outside of the supernatural community she took a step back from the politics of the humans and supernaturals. She studied in the university of New Orleans starting her degree in medicine in 1955 and graduating only 4 years later. Her real name is Amelia Rose Mikaelson, married to Niklaus Mikaelson in 1809, however in order to protect herself and stay under the radar, she has changed her surname back to her maiden name of Simmons. She has not seen her husband since the fateful night in the opera house in 1919 and he believes her to be dead. You might be wondering why she has not revealed to her beloved that she did in fact survive. This is due to PSTD from the torture that mikael inflicted on her.
