As Jane walked abandoned on the empty streets of Sacramento, he thought about the woman he loved, admired and wanted to share the rest of his life with. One problem; Lisbon was getting more serious with Marcus Pike, her current boyfriend. He walked over to the restaurant Pike and Lisbon were dining to confess his love to her and nobody would stand in his way, well.. except for Marcus Pike. But he didn't care anymore. He was done with everything, his pain, the stabbing feeling of bitterness he'd felt everyday of his life. Yes, Patrick Jane was done. Just a little mentalist oneshot suggested by @thementalistgirl :) Thank you for the idea!

AU - A twist on the Blue Bird ending. What if Lisbon hadn't been persuaded to stay by Jane's endearing words? Will be quite angsty, something I've not really tried before. But hang with me!
