Epoch November 8, 2046. Aberrants. Humans born with abilities capable of destroying society as we know it. In order to curb their reach, an impromptu government that goes under the name "Penumbra" has hired Hunters-people skilled enough to deal with the said Aberrants-to take them out. Crimson is one of those Hunters. An experience with an Aberrant leaves him with two things: One, a lingering feeling of doubt that what he's doing is right; and two, the knowldedge that he is an Aberrant himself.

A group of people are marginalized because of their supernatural abilities. There are two types of people in this world: Regulars and Talents. Talents have supernatural abilities which are deemed as evil and witchcraft by the Regulars. In the first half, Abigaile is a Talent from Salem, Massachusetts with the ability to feel the emotions of others, even if they don't know what they're feeling themselves; Abigaile is the Aura. Abigaile must save her fellow Talents from Salem and find a permanent home for them while struggling to handle her two feuding lovers. In the second half, Annabelle is Abigaile's present-day descendant, and she must hide from a group of terrorists that mean to exploit her for her powers of empathy.
