Two years after Mirabel saved the family miracle, life in Encanto was peaceful and truly joyous. All members of the Madrigal family were thriving without the pressures of perfection. However, the peace is suddenly disrupted when a band of rogues attacks and terrorizes the town. As the attacks worsen, Abuela must rally the people of Encanto to defend their home.
As she oversees preparations for their final strike against the invaders, one scene in particular catches her eye. Abuela's soul seemed to shatter as she watches Mariano tenderly running his hand along her granddaughter's bulging stomach and whispering sweet nothings. The young couple lock gazes with each other, communicating such love and devotion, before sharing a tight embrace and passionate kiss. It reminded Abuela of her and Pedro in their last moments together. Oh how she prayed the tragedy of her beloved Pedro would not befall Mariano. "Dios, protect him. Protect us all."
Yes, the summary sucks, but the story is good. Please read! I worked really hard on this!
CONTENT INCLUDES: lengthy one-shot that has depictions of violence, death, and depression. There is added fluff and bittersweetness to balance out the darker moments. Try not to cry. A good portion of it is Dolores-centric. Essentially, this is a challenge to just see how much sadness and fluff I can throw into one fic. Beware.
