Meanwhile, after learning that his "dead" grandfather, Gerald, kept a diary about 'The Ultimate Lifeform', Dr. Eggman sets off to find this Ultimate Lifeform, who just so happens to be a black hedgehog named Shadow, but he also finds his grandfather Gerald in the basement, who'd survived solely on his hatred for humanity and desire to destroy Möbius.
