After another attempted failure in creating a cure for his sickly granddaughter, Maria, Professor Gerald Robotnik was getting desperate. His star pupil, Doctor Maci Garcia, offered a solution, creating the Ultimate Cure, Project: EMBER. Under the guidance of her professor, Doctor Maci was successful in creating Project: EMBER. Not ready to be introduced to the others, Ember was kept away in a different place in the Ark. When her test results came up with a high success rate for a cure, she was soon introduced to Maria, Abe, and Shadow. And thus a somewhat beautiful friendship blossomed. But it didn't last for long.

Shadow desires deep emotional connection, missing what he once had with his best, and only true friend, Maria Robotnik. But Shadow has spent almost his entire life building emotional walls around himself, and they aren't about to be torn down anytime soon. Or will they? A Shadamy fanfiction that somewhat explores Shadows deep emotional issues and grief. This is primarily a Shadamy fic, but I plan to include a lot of flashbacks of his time with Maria, and in particular to how she helped shaped him as a person. As well as how her chronic illness effected him personally. This is a Shadamy fic, but there will be zero sexual content, at the most some light kissing and cuddling etc. But plenty of sweet moments!! Zero cussing. Zero drugs or alcohol. And Sonic is not a jerk (well, mostly). Please bear with me as I messily go through this fic. No, I do not know what i'm doing.
