Jack, Letty's handsome grandson, believes Barrett wants to exploit Letty's story and is wary of Barrett's celebrity obsession. Barrett is shocked when she learns that Letty helped Marilyn Monroe fake her death on a dark and rainy night in 1962. She sets out to find the legend, hoping to pen a best-seller with her discovery simultaneously saving the paper with the explosive news. When everything starts to go wrong, Barrett realizes that she needs her friends and her family more than she ever imagined. She understands that being a real friend to a Hollywood star means holding onto her secrets and protecting her from the brutal glare of the spotlights.
